Half-Pint Stocking

Now that our Sunny Stocking Sew Along for 2019 is off to a great start, it's time for a new stocking template! A smaller stocking perfect for the littles in your life!!!

The Half-Pint Stocking finishes at about 14 inches long.

First, here is the template for the Half-Pint Stocking....you will copy two halves and tape the halves together to make the template. If you want to make the stocking even smaller, try reducing the size in your printer settings.

Half-Pint Stocking

The instructions for this stocking will be the same as for the original Clamshell Stocking. You can find those instructions HERE and HERE. Since this stocking finishes at 14" long, you will need to cut your foundation fabric at least 10" wide by 15" long.

This is my preferred method for sewing clamshells, but you can use any method you like. Just remember that if you are going to Needle-Turn Applique' the clamshells, you must first trace around the template on the right side of your fabric. Then cut at least generous 1/8" inch beyond the drawn line. This will give you enough seam allowance to turn under as you apply the clamshells to the foundation fabric.

For the larger clamshell stocking I used a 3.5" clamshell. For the Half-Pint Stocking, I used the smaller 2.25" clamshell. You can copy that template HERE.

Finally, the basic instructions for putting a stocking together are HERE.
